Bugs

Here is another bug from my current show at the Arts Council. This one was found and given to me by my husband. The bug paintings are done in oil on paper. The paper has deckled edges and is mounted on board, then framed, so that the texture of the paper can be more appreciated than if it was under glass.

Mills River

This is another painting that is in my current show at the Arts Council. It's called "Mills River Swimming Hole". I did most of this painting on location at the North Mills River Rec. area, which is gorgeous. I was actually standing on a rock in the middle of the stream to get this view. A very pleasant place to work! I finished the painting in the studio from reference photos. This painting was previously seen in a group show by the River District Artists, which was also at the Arts Council, in the Front Gallery this past June.
I had a great turnout at my opening reception this past weekend- thanks to everyone who came!
